If I had fully played Destiny 1 their individual plights during the opening sequences — their pain, their struggle, their defiance likely would have had a more profound effect on me. The saving grace for Destiny 2 is that the story it does tell has more of a semblance of structure versus the original bits I played leading up to The Taken King.

Bungie rolls back controversial Destiny matchmaking changes
Most of us play for fun and relaxation as an escape from the stress of work and everyday life. Sure, a game can and should be challenging, but when it is no longer fun to play, your favorite game can suddenly start to feel like an unpleasant, unpaid second job. That, in a nutshell, is the problem with Destiny 2. The developers at Bungie should have created a game that was rewarding and fun to play, but instead Destiny 2 now has a loot and progression system that punishes all but the most elite players, which sucks the life and fun out of playing the game.
With Destiny 2‘s second story expansion, Warmind, such as matchmaking bugs and a lack of damage balance, which need to be fixed before players will embrace the activity again. this change feels as if the developer is overlooking the real problem.

Destiny Dominic Im looking to go on a raid. None of my friends play this game so its really hard to find someone to go onto a raid with. My PSN is Sofa Ill raid with anyone willing too. If thats how they wanted to play it they should of introduced forums to the tower so it can be done in game.
Same with making clans. That leaves me with very few options for how to play the game. I can either play Cruicible or strikes. However failure to address matchmaking is a monumental error by the developers. Not many of my friends have a ps4 so im going to have to invite random people anyway to do a raid. WHy not give me the feature to do that rather than forcing me to try and befriend strangers and then asking them to do a raid that they might not want to do.

Rather than playing Destiny, I found myself spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to find a couple of people who wanted to run a mission that would have taken us a fraction of that time to actually complete.

It’s not yet clear whether that has been an improvement. I’ve been playing more and more PvP lately. It’s a logical progression — the PvE stuff has reached a predictable tempo for me, so I’ve been getting ready for Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner to come back next week. Generally speaking, I’m having a great time with the new maps, modes, and subclasses.
I’m psyched to see how it all shakes out in IB and Trials. I’m less sold on the new matchmaking system. For those not in the know, matchmaking is the behind-the-scenes stat-comparing that a competitive game does to pair players against similarly skilled players. Year two’s matchmaking has been billed as an improvement over year one. While I’m sure most of the new stuff is happening out of sight, there are some new visible changes, too: The game now more actively breaks up teams after lopsided matches, and the new “mercy rule” ends a match early if either team runs away with the score.
I like both of those ideas in theory, but in practice, I’ve had a rougher go of it. I’ll often get dropped into in-progress matches, and when I do, I’m almost always on the losing team. I’ll stick it out and let that match end, and the game will tell me it’s breaking those teams up to find a better matchup. Then… well, sometimes I’ll then be dropped into another in-progress game — on another already losing team — and we’ll lose again.
